last song syndrome: 4th av cafe - l'arc en ciel

Bishie Uncle 1 had plastic surgery done, to remove his eyebags. He has these cool thin scars just under his eyes that make him look Gothy. He has the skinny build to go with it too.

It's fun having him here. Tita Angie called, so I got to talk to her and my cousin and Bishie Uncle 2. And since the phone's in my room, everybody came and hung out. I love hearing my bishie uncles talk. #1's helping Mama redecorate, and their tastes clash like anything. "She wanted to put down orange carpet; I'm telling you, I wanted to die." XDDD

He's so sarcastic. Cousin Duddykins saw his picture and asked him "Is this you?" and he said "No, that's my little star twin."

. . .

Two Towers again last night! By God, every time I watch that movie I love it more. Legolas is officially my favorite now. I like him more when he's angry or unhappy than when he's being all pretty Elf Boy. And at one point I saw Orlando Bloom's stubble showing through Legolas's skin. Mnyahahahaha.

Theoden: "Leave the dead." Legolas: "........!!"

Legolas *bitching in Elvish* "We're all gonna die!" XD

. . .

I succumbed. I now have a livejournal for to stick all my quizzbuzzings, pics, ficlets and random shiznits in. ^^ Ah well, it was bound to happen.

last song syndrome: lahan - xenogears ost

Nearly passed out yesterday. Hadn't had lunch; ate some puto and scrambled eggs at about 3. Got a mad craving for chocolate at 6 and jumped up to fetch some. When I got to the door, all the blood in my head made a nosedive for my feet. I felt my head drain, and all the color went out of everything, and my legs buckled. Must start sleeping and eating regularly, I think. ^^

L: Ya think?

Random ramblings and quizbuzzing:

What's YOUR Writing Style?
brought to you by Quizilla

O.O Who knew? Of course I know who to blame...

Congratulations, you're New Orleans, the wild city.
What US city are you? Take the quiz by Girlwithagun.

COOL!!! I was thinking SF, but...^_^

Harry

Which Harry Potter Character are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

That's actually uncommonly good advice. ^^;

You're the Anti-Ken!

You love your manga and anime, and you'll scream if someone tells you to stop writing that fanfic and get out more.

Sad... . . .

Andrael! That video? How about you write it, I draw it. C'mon, it'll be fun! ^_^

. . .

Strange but true: I don't know about the rest of the Philippines, but Bacolod men are such blind fans of Karaoke that they will get together in a manly group, drink manly beer, make manly jokes and sing anything up to and including the Village People and "It's Raining Men" at the top of their manly voices.

I find it hilarious, and a classic example of native lack of a sense of irony, that these men love to sing "YMCA" as an expression of their l33t manliness. XDDD

. . .

In a previous post I referred to Blythe as Barbie on crack. I was wrong. This is Barbie on crack. And all the Kens look like J-rock stars. There's even a doll that looks exactly like Draco Malfoy! Right down to the eyes!

. . .

RL: Yay! Bishie Uncle #1 is in town! And he's staying till Thursday! Also, am getting together with a friend this afternoon for a second showing of Two Towers.

That hick "Dubya" doing stupid things again. Please help.

And speaking of stupid things--

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Someone whom I asked to write a reference letter for me suddenly backed out. Someone else hasn't come back yet from wherever he's gone to write it. I asked another person, but she won't be able to get the letter to me for a few days. That's exceeding the end-of-month deadline I'd set myself.

Moral of the story: when you need two reference letters, ask at least five people. Why the hell didn't I think of that before? I am a bloody idiot.

"This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out."

My mailbox sounds like it's breaking up with me. 0.o It was just a failed message. Honestly.

Updates!!!

Character profiles of the League of Greek Boys. Also this week's YOWIE! comic, which is a gift for Pluto-sensei as well as an entry into her, yes, Butt-Grab challenge.

. . .

I watched the Two Towers. I shall not review. For one thing, I haven't fully absorbed it yet. I need at least 3 more viewings to formulate an opinion. =3 But even after that, I don't think I have anything to say that hasn't already been said. Oh well. Anyway...

...I LOVED IT!!! *squeesqueesquee*

last song syndrome: for you - utada hikaru

More fruits of insomnia:

If I had the money to fritter away, this is the first thing I'd fritter it away on. I can't believe I have a crush on a doll. Waaa, Homura-kuuuuun...

KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

. . .

And now...

Just got back from watching 8 Mile. My review. If you can call it that.

It ain't normal
Eminem's charmin' performance had me hypnotized
I was surprised it got such a rise out of me
I loved the story of his gory love life
And the serious strife he had at home
I liked the strength of his portrayal
Of how scared he was to fail
And how his mom wailed and railed and got smashed
And how he crashed into violent behavior
But through it all the love of his sister and his music was his savior
And it all made for a beautiful tale that affected me deeply
Eminem making me weepy
Was not a thing I had counted on.

I loved the contests of instant rap fests
The competitiveness that infests the scene
Gives an atmosphere you could cut clean through with a blade
And it made me feel ashamed
How these guys could rhyme in such a sublime manner
With no time to compose, God knows
The mind just blows away.

But an unfortunate side effect of this sudden affection
Is this pretentious, overrhyming load of pap
And now my grandmother thinks that
her little geek girl can rap.

Oh my God, I suck!!!! XDDD But this is my journal, so if I want to post awful rhymes like behavior and savior and rhyme and sublime, there ain't nothin' y'all can do 'bout it!

Wait, this isn't real rap. No swearwords. XD

last song syndrome - mass hymns

Just got back from Mass and realized I hadn't written about last night's outing yet. It was lots of fun, but with some setbacks.

I wanted the Rock Chick look, but had to settle for Rich Brat Out On The Town. Dammit. Maybe I need more leather things. Or maybe the whole problem is that I'm actually neither a rock chick nor a rich brat. I treat a clubbing night as an excuse to cosplay. =_=

It was supposed to be us three girls. Me, January and Li-anne. January and I made the plans and asked Li-anne along because she's leaving for the US today. Jan and I hung out at my place painting our faces (well, it feels that way to someone who never wears makeup), and then headed off to fetch Li-anne.

Who, it turns out, had invited not one, but two BOYS. Call me a nitpicker, but what part of Girls' Night Out don't you understand?

Kai Sei was closed. >( I wanted to go to another Japanese place, but Li-anne vetoed me because it was too far and Rex wouldn't know how to get there. We ate at a Filipino place called Time Out which actually had lovely squid sisig. But did we get to take our time? No. Li-anne kept telling us to hurry up so we could get on with the clubbing.

The guys were nice though. One of them was the younger brother of a girl I'd known since grade school. She was three years older than me and always treated me like her little sister. It was so funny to find chubby little Stefan suddenly this long-legged Aryan guy about twice my height. XD

Dancing! The music wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. And it's always so much fun to dance. I don't think I'm that great a dancer, and in any case it was hard to tell because most people were moving the same way, so I didn't know if I was bad or just different. Julia Stiles I ain't, but I enjoyed it very much.

Of course I only lasted about an hour and a half before folding up. Okay, everybody now--WUSS! >_< Ah well. When you're excited the music's fun, but when you're tired the bass beat just gets to you and makes you feel like you've swallowed a phone set on vibrate.

I would have liked to go somewhere else and have coffee and chat, but Jan was already half asleep (because unlike me, she WORKS for a living) and Li-anne was perfectly happy with her boys. Despite that, when we were leaving, she insisted "No, no, you can't go yet! I wanna have fun!" She actually dragged at my arm. She tried to stop me from getting in the car. Yareyare.

All in all, though, a good night. The guys were fun, the dinner was yummy, the music was okay and the dancing was great. Plus Jan was lots of fun and great company, even if Li-anne wasn't. And I got to dress up! Whee!

Why do I regress eight years when it comes to Orlando Bloom? And Greasy!Depp has always appealed to me, in a...well, greasy...kinda way...

Quote from Neil Gaiman's journal:

"The first settlers arrived in 1865, aboard the Mimosa sailboat. They were escaping from the English penetration in their native country as well as from the attempt of the latter to impose their culture to them. They were looking for a virgin territory to be able to found the "New Wales" and follow their own rules and customs without being molested. Huge and virgin Patagonia was that promised land.... This way, Gaiman was born. Only 10 years later, it became the first district of the old Chubut Territory. A place full of history, undoubtedly. Not to mention a place full of inadvertent double-entendre."

What Orlando Bloom are You?

brought to you by Quizilla

*wheeeeeeeeeeeee*

Didn't post last night because was getting paranoid about Internet time, but figured out how to check it this morning and I am ay-okay. So:

post as of 4.52 am

STILL bloody awake. Didn't get my nap today--er, yesterday--either. Am staying up way past my bedtime distracting myself. Don't ask what with, or if you do, I will answer truthfully and say "fics". And if you don't know what an RPS fic is, again, don't ask. It will destroy you.

Some people drown their sorrows with alcohol. I drown my sorrows with fanfic. At least I don't throw up afterward, unless it was quite bad fanfic.

I just found Lyra's LiveJournal.

. . .

I miss my best friends so much it makes me feel ill.

We were three, like the Wyrd sisters, the role players, the three branches of government. Whenever one fell off with the other, the remaining one would always lend a sympathetic ear to both sides. Harry and Ron and Hermione. Charlie's Angels. Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and Harlan Ellison. And then...gone.

One day we'll be dead, and we still won't have made up, and that's the most horrible thing I can imagine.

addendum as of 6.06 pm

Talked to Lyra today! So relieved. It was as if no time had gone by at all. But she's always been the open one, the friendly one, the one who doesn't take things personally.

When do you start being afraid of someone who's supposed to be your best friend? Afraid of saying things that might hurt her, give her cause to hurt you? When did I start letting her punish me for not being able to read her mind?

She's one of the best friends I've ever had. But I don't want to live in her black and white, you're-with-me-or-you're-against-me world. I want to be friends again. The way we used to be.

last song syndrome: Yoake no Legend - Fatal Fury 2 ED

WHEE!!! I got my Legolas pillow!!!!! *heartsheartshearts* Am smooshing it as I type. Dork.

Why do all the character pillows feature scared faces? Even in the group pic pillows there's at least one scared face. Legolas especially looks really horrified. You can see his irises are ultramarine. Frodo is like, "what...the...hell...?" and clutches his Ring like a crucifix.

Then again, maybe it was on purpose. The PR guy's little joke. "Hey, our token demographic is fangirls, right? We know what's going to happen to those pillows, right?" The pillow boys look like they know too. X3

WAI, LEGOLAS!!! Legolas: O.O Frodo: >_> *clutches Ring*

Ranchoweb is going to start charging for image hosting. Damn, damn, damn. Frantically trying to find somewhere else that will link directly to the blog.

In the meantime...more stuff! Not exactly updates, more like presents. For Jane-chan: This is for you, and anybody else who wants a new Photoshop brush, but really mostly for you. I was trawling VBrush and realized I had some of that stuff too. Argh, my uncle has BOATLOADS of books like that: calligraphy samples, old maps, antique woodcuts, stuff just for scanning or collage. Will check if he sent some home.

Andrael, more LoEPGB stuff! Made a "home" page, and all the links are there. I did a preliminary costume design. Icarus doesn't have wings because I couldn't decide whether to give him feathers, Clover-y wings, X-Man Archangel type wings or just a pair of jets. Remember, I'm basing it on your Icarus, so what do you think he'd like?

Argh. And in all the excitement I forgot to scan the Simon/Alex kiss. Well, Zan draws it better anyway. *goes back again to drool over Simon and Alex*

Wednesday, January 22, 2003

Well, here I am again, blogging at ungodly hours. And because I had the time, I went and read Cassandra Claire's Harry Potter fanfic, a Dracocentric trilogy.

Cassandra Claire has a natural talent, which may have contributed to her being a rather overly-casual writer. I like her stories a lot; they're funny and the plots are great and the characters are well-done and she writes Rowling's world like she was born in it. But the lighter parts of her stories feel to me as if they were just dashed off without proper beta.

For example: In this chapter, she has done something extremely annoying: failed to proofread before posting. There are corrections right alongside the original text, so that you read a sentence with two different wordings of the same thing together. It gives an unpleasant feeling of deja vu and constantly jerked me out of the story. And if there's anything I hate, it's being interrupted while I'm reading.

I've noticed though, that when the story gets serious, the writing sharpens and gains focus. She's really concentrating then, and it shows. During the humorous scenes, the writing seems to slacken. She throws in a lot of lines from other sources, which are admittedly funny, but recognizing them tends to throw the reader out of the story. As does the sudden appearance of the author's or editor's comments in parentheses in the chapter instead of at the end (a particular peeve of mine, and with good reason). Besides, her own writing in those scenes is usually much funnier than either the comments or quotes.

Damn good writer, though. A dose of discipline could change her from a good writer into, not to exaggerate, a fandom legend. Oh wait, she already is. Well, self-improvement and all that...

. . .

It's very strange to want someone whom you don't want to want you. Him wanting me would be so...wrong, and not who he is at all, and I don't want that. I just want to be his friend, and give him stuff, and let him tell me things, and not let him notice how much I like him.

This is so weird. Now I know what Tomoyo feels like.

Okay, everybody just ignore that post, because it was more cathartic than anything, and none of you know him anyway. Moving on to be fangirly for a bit.

Inside Hollywood counted box office top ten. Right at the top was, of course, Two Towers. What I was not expecting was...the appearance...of...

KYAAAAAAAAAAA I AM SO GIGIL ELIJAH WOOD TALKS ON INSIDE HOLLYWOOD AND TWO LOVELY SCENES WITH FRODO AND LOVELY BIG EYES IN HIS LOVELY FACE BEING LOVELY WITH SAM KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

*curls up with Frodo pillow and drools and babbles*

last song syndrome: crazy - tori amos

Watched the Golden Globes last night. Get off the stage, Richard Gere, you hack! Guh.

OMG! Edie Falco had laryngitis!!! XD XD XD And the star of Curb Your Enthusiasm had a mini-comedy routine for an acceptance speech. Nothing this fun ever happens at the Oscars.

It's pretty unfair though, that they separate Best Movies into Drama and Comedy/Musical. It's like that time at the World Fantasy Awards when Neil Gaiman won for his Midsummer Night's Dream comic. As soon as it was over all those sour-grapes elitist jerks made sure that a comic story could never win a World Fantasy Award again.

. . .

I am in lust. Seriously, deeply, madly in lust. With a good dose of crushing in.

It was...instant. The idol worship came first, and then the lust like a flame, and now it's gotten into my innards and brain and it's eating them away. I haven't felt like this for a long time. As uncomfortable as it is though, I really like it because it makes me feel alive. I'm not just a geeky fangirl who does all her wanking in fanfic after all. Thank god! I am a redblooded human being who lusts after other human beings! (Quite mad human beings, or rather being, but then so am I.)

I wonder if this will affect my writing. It shows no signs of affecting my drawing...yet.

. . .

Updates! REAL updates this time. Put up not one, but THREE strips on YOWIE!. Plus, coded each strip to HTML so there are now comments and a couple of links. Go to the first one if you haven't read it yet, or if you want to read the comments, and to YOWIE! 8 for the new strips.

Next week, The League of Extraordinarily Pretty Greek Boys makes an appearance! No, really. I swear.

Which Yami no Matsuei Character are You?

Which Stereotypical CLAMP emotion are you?

According to another pointless quiz, I'm apparently the Ideal Lover. I was pleased till I actually read the description.

. . .

Is it just me or is Tom Felton getting cuter with age? Actually, the same thing goes for all the HP cast. I saw an interview picture of Rupert Grint and realized: "Holy shit, he looks like the young Paul Bettany!!!" Who was, btw, the biggest reason why I actually bought A Knight's Tale on DVD. Ah, British boys. Gotta love 'em.

And now...updates! Sort of.

Added links to the manga list on Boys & Girls. Now some of the manga have links to sites with galleries, translations, and other stuff.

Also updated the list at left with a more complete listing of my favorites: movies, fanfic, etc.

. . .

I have been spending my nights in the head of a teenage gay boy. (Oh, all right, he's 18.) His world is even weirder than I imagined. Way, way, WAY weirder. Like Yellow Submarine was weirder than...than...well, most animated stuff I've seen really. Funny thing is...Jane-chan, he sounds a lot like you! Only without all the rants in Tagalog. But the obsession with the glam rock star, the hormone-driven raves, the occasional spurts of finely-written venom...it's uncanny. You guys should meet.

Hmm. Saw something else today. I was going to rave in Tagalog, but I can't do it; too many people will laugh at me and my feeble grasp of the language. So I'll rave in Japanese instead. And if you don't understand me...GOOD.

Kono hito...kono suteki na hito, shashin no naka no hito...ano hito wa boku no atarashii AIDORU. Boku ga koitsu no manga o yonde iru (dai suki). Sakki ni kinyoubi, koitsu o mail shita. *wipe drool* *switch language*

Tsaka Jane-chan, I love you dearly and you're one of my precious friends, pero just in case tatanong ka, akin siya. Akin. Akin! AKIN!!! Anyway meron ka namang Fookah at Hide, di ba? Pagbigyan mo naman ako. Mas exciting naman ang buhay mo kesa sa akin.

And if that weren't enough...he's an artist. A damn good one. Boku wa shinde yukou. *dies*

(Today's J-dorama courtesy of LiveJournal, which I can blame for everything, and indeed, do.)

As long as we're blaming LiveJournal for Evil Influences Made On My Life: I found the journals of my TWO BIGGEST FANFIC IDOLS!!! Updated blog links at left--see added Talya Firedancer and Sahari.

Talya and Sahari are--well, they're legends of yaoi fanfic. Talya's fics were actually the doorway for most of us into the strange world of well-written fanfic (which I personally thought was impossible, having attempted it several times--but I didn't know the Rules then). And having never read yaoi as yaoi before, it was suddenly a Brave New World.

Sahari is the Tolkien of the fanfic world. The worlds she creates are...they're fecking amazing is what they are. Her writing has so much depth it has strata, layer after layer of culture and history cemented into place so skilfully that you think it was always there. Her Heroic Legend of Arislan fic, Coronation, gave me the satisfaction that the beautiful but soon-abandoned anime series failed to deliver. Which is ultimately, I think, what fanfic is for.

I worship them. Worship. Worship. Worship.

. . .

Went with Mama (my grandmother. Don't ask.) to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It was really good. Nia Verdalos has such a realness to her; so do most of the other characters, even the caricatures. I laughed my ass off. I cried. It was good. I'd say watch it, but I think EVERYBODY ELSE has seen it by now. ...Would you believe Treasure Planet isn't even here yet? Not to mention Two Towers. Ugh. BUT! This store in the mall is selling LotR PILLOWS!!! *dies* I got a little Frodo throw. I want the big Legolas one. Wanna huuuuuuuuuuug...

Zan, if you're reading this...I had a mad dream last night--err, this morning. Someone with pink-sequined eyesockets was being buried...or seduced, I'm not sure...by a gorgeous Roman boy emperor. And the whole dream was in your drawing style. Gothy-Greeky animated universe...and I was in it...*brain deflates*

Don't mind. Sleep deprivation talking.

mood: annoyed
last song syndrome: time has come - luna sea

Why can't my grandmother be like a normal grandmother? I.e., mind her own damn business. I wish she would BLOODY LEAVE ME ALONE. She doesn't even give me a chance to be glad she's home before she starts bitching about a million things in my life that need improvement. I think one reason I'm so happy to go to London is to get away from her. No matter how fond I am of her otherwise, there's no living with her.

If anybody's wondering why my blogging seems a bit disjointed, it's because I write in a rich text file several times during the day. Pitas isn't clever like LiveJournal; it sticks the date above every entry. So, unless I want several entries with the same date, I add up everything and put it in at the end of the day--barring the news that has to get out NOW. Meaning, I have to get it out. Not that people are dying to hear it. ^^;

Am starting to feel outclassed with all those clever LiveJournals and layout-slut Bloggers out there...Sabina is a Pitas user, as is Andrael, but they always have much more interesting things to say, not to mention better layouts. Sabina also has a LiveJournal account.

Down, Inferiority Complex! Bad boy!

. . .

I just drew my first fanart in months. I started it on the spur of the moment, and ended up wrestling with it for over an hour.

Do you know what the hardest thing about drawing a kiss is? It's this little game called Fit the Face. You can draw and redraw and erase till the paper disintegrates, those damn noses just won't bloody FIT.

But when you're finally through, you take a breath and look at your handiwork. And it's no Manet, but it's pretty damn cute.

Hope Zan likes it. ^^ Will scan and put it up soon.

real life: God, my biorhythms are shot to HELL. Apparently I'm sleeping in two shifts these days. I stay up most or all of the night (this a.m. I slept at 6!!), wake up around 9, and take a nap after lunch that turns into a 4-hour wallowing in the slough of dreams.

I'm not kidding. Man was not meant to sleep in daytime. Dreaming in daytime is like sitting on a kickboard in your swimming pool. Sometimes you're neck deep in it, cool and comfortable, and then sometimes you rise enough to break the surface but never quite clear the water, and you shiver and blink and thrash around, not sure what's under and what's above. Then when you get out all your limbs feel heavy and you're high on chlorine. @_@ Blgh.

Am also pissed off because I was planning to work on the designs after lunch. Still, I have to admit I do my best drawing between 11 pm and 3 am. Unfortunately, this is, according to health experts, the best time to sleep. ........Damn.

Rose-chan and friend have done strange things to a drawing of mine in Photoshop. Go see. Where did they get all those patterns? I want them.

EEEEEE!!! Strings of Fate is back!!! And at a domain of its own!

. . .

Ugh. After hours of slogging through deep weblogs, Dreamweavered-to-the-nth-degree weblogs, bitchy weblogs, fangirl weblogs and why-did-they-bother-with-a-weblog? weblogs, I have come to the completely unbiased conclusion that Andrael's is still my favorite. Next to Mr Gaiman's, of course. Hey, you, I went to the NaNoWriMo site and I couldn't get to your novel anymore! You got somewhere I could read it?

In other news: the Harry Potter community is going crazy over the release of the release date of Book 5. I am neither a screaming fanatic vowing to camp outside the bookstore for weeks, nor a jaded slashficcer yawning and proclaiming that she'd actually rather read fanfic.

Truth be told, I am very excited. Some online magazine once commented on the unfairness of HP being bumped down to a "children's" bestseller because it was constantly outselling the other bestsellers. I can remember neither the title nor web add of the article, but I remember that it said (to paraphrase): "Besides, it won't be a children's book for long. Next year is Harry's fifteenth. He'll be the Holden Caulfield of the wizarding world."

XD XD XD Now that I'm excited about. But I can't let myself get too excited, because I will likely still be stuck in Bacolod when they release "HPoP". (All right, I called the Morning-Musume lover insane, but this acronym is too cute to pass up.) Which means I won't get to read it till I get to London.

*suddenly reminded* LONDON! Omigod. Okay, forget the Holden Caulfield of the wizarding world. I love him, but I think reading book 5 pales in comparison to getting self enrolled in a proper art school! *sweats* Priorities, priorities.

Now all I have to worry about is steering clear of all HP sites starting on June 21, in case I get spoiled. And if anyone reading this blog feels tempted to bubble over to me about how cool it is that Harry DID THIS, or ohmigod I never expected THIS, I will suck out your eyeballs and eat them with relish, no matter how dear you may be to me otherwise.

last song syndrome: tina turner - mad max, beyond thunderdome OP

Before you ask, it's showing on HBO. This is the movie where Mel seems to have nailed down his "Braveheart" look, ages before he actually did the movie. And he still sounds Australian! I've always been a sucker for that accent.

. . .

Most errands for this week are done, so today I'm back to blogging about meaningless things.

Tried to remember Dark Schneider's name and for a while all I could come up with was "Sexy Bastard". Well, he is! *fans self with hand*

New comic link! It's called Glamour Lust...for a reason. Yes, yaoi again. But hey, there's a het couple in it! Sort of het. She turns into a guy occasionally.

Also featured: a hunky chunk of silver-haired dead ringer to the aforementioned Sexy Bastard. With black wings(!!). And his bat-winged uke with hair a Rejoice model would weep for, who could be a seme in his own right if his boyfriend weren't, well, Black Winged UberSeme.

On the other side of the Keenspace Yaoi Search scale, there is Legends of Rovana. You'll notice I didn't include a link. Don't go there. Unless you want to read sentences like "My mind washed with horror...and then swarmed with rage." The colored pencil technique isn't so terrible though.

And if you want something surreal, go visit the Blythe gallery. 0.0 I can't figure out if she's Barbie on crack (which I like) or the Bride of Chucky. XD

. . .

Today's pop-up ad: IS PORNOGRAPHY SAVED ON YOUR PC? Huh. As if it was a bad thing. XD I cried when I lost my porn. Ugh, that just reminded me...all my doujinshi...Stupid ad.

More stupid links: The Sane Potter fan journal. What the hell? Is there actually such a thing? *reads it* Oh, I'm sorry. You mean the non-devil-worshiping, non-fanfic-writing fans. I'm so pleased to note you put those two on the same damn level.

Here's what sane Harry Potter fans discuss, as of Jan 17, 10.37 am.

After wading through: Order of the Phoenix

OP
I thought, hey, it's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

HPop!

Where's Morning Musume when you need 'em?

Much more interesting and involving than discussing the progression of Draco's character and the thrill of writing death and love together, I'm sure.

And he/she likes Morning Musume. The sure sign of a deranged mind. And they're the sane ones?! Ugh. To make a hollow laughing.

. . .

Real Life: Well...they're back. My grandparents, I mean.

.......

Prime reason I want to go to London...alone: My roommate won't give a fuck HOW messy my room is. As long as it stays on MY side. And I'm quite good about personal space.

So leave me alone. I like swimming in my art. Literally.

*grumbles* Busybodying matriarchal Chinese grandmothers...

So! How do you like the new layout? Bit butterscotchy, but I think I like it that way. The pretty wingboy is the Page of Wands, from my friend's Reiko Shimizu artbook. I likee him very much.

Busy week. Upgraded the Internet plan from 10 to 80 hours. Plus they gave me 20 hours free! *yay* Retrieved Mum's documents from La Salle and FedExed them. I also changed a hundred dollars and put it in my BPI account. I still have 400 left, but I want to put that in my Bank of America accounts. I think there's an HSBC here, and they're affiliated with BoA. I need to call them and check if I can deposit dollars through them or if I need to go to the main (actually the only) branch of BoA in Manila.

A very nice lady called Elizabeth Dudley, the student manager, also wrote me. I know it's standard to send applying students a little e-mail saying "hi, I'm here, thanks for applying and let me know if you need anything." But it still makes me feel good.

I saw my godbrother the other day. He wants me to draw some characters for him. I think I will--it's nice to have a "commission". I believe I'll extort something from him in return; maybe a CD or two. Also, I could include the designs in my portfolio. "Commissioned by Jubal Gallaga, son of renowned Philippine director Peque Gallaga." Mweheheheheh. Well, he is.

Grandparents arriving tomorrow! Wonder how they enjoyed Puerto Rico. I'm sure all Lolo wants to do is get back to his TV and his office, though.

More links:

Omigod!!! There's actually a manga called Hayabusa! And it's full of BISHOUNEN! *whee* And the lead character has headphones like MINE!!! *mindless glee*

The artist of My Life In Blue, that lovely Gothy Greeky comic I was raving about a few posts ago, has an art site.

Literary efforts: Two Wings 5 is going, if verrrrry slowly. Tripper 5 was finished--until I noticed the teeny fact that it's CRAP. XO And Courtship has just ground to a halt. I wonder if the fact that it's actually a het GP fic has something to do with it. >_<

Demo nara! Rose-chan sent me a new chapter of Bride of Sword! If I learned anything from this fic, it's that humor is a damn sight harder to write than Terry Pratchett would have you think.

Am also working on the pretty Greek boys. Said godbrother is helping me, being even more anal about Greek myth than I am. YOWIE! is...continuing, as soon as I get strips 9 and 10 to upload, for God's sake! *grrrrgh*
